A dense tangle of gnarled thorny vines the colors of dried and fresh blood twists across a background of warm grey, punctuated with little jewel-like droplets of blood. I had fairy tale Evil Queens in mind when I illustrated this scarf, but I also like the idea of these thorns being worn as a symbolically protective hedge or as a hallowed crown of thorns. Regardless of how one chooses to think about them, I hope these thorns imbue the wearer with an armored sense of resilience and ferocity. 

The scarf is constructed from two layers of pure silk satin, with vivid digital printing on both sides, so the illustration looks perfectly vibrant and crisp from all angles, regardless of how you tie it. This scarf is a uniquely versatile shape that looks fabulous when tied as a cravat, a headband, a hairbow, tied chicly at the throat, or however else you may wish to style it.

This illustration is limited to an edition of only 50 silk cravats released in 2025 and will never be reprinted.
