About the Artist/Brand
Logandria is the creative offspring of Logan Spector, an interdisciplinary artist, illustrator, pattern designer, and art director.
Her luxurious silk scarves are inspired by daydreams, mythology, fantasy, art history, the natural world, kink, and eroticism. Each scarf has a unique theme, and the more complex scarves typically take many months to ideate, research, sketch, illustrate, and refine.
Every scarf begins on paper in Logan's sketchbook. Early sketches vary from detailed and clear visions to rough assemblages of color and shape. As the concept begins to take form in her head and on paper, Logan begins the long process of digitally illustrating the final scarf design by hand, using a pressure-sensitive pen tablet and drawing software. As figures and objects begin to take form, layers of detail and pattern are slowly added, giving the work depth, intrigue, and dozens of hidden details that are a delight for the wearer or viewer to discover. For those who are interested in peeking behind the curtain, Logan shares a full view of her creative process on Patreon.
The goal with each scarf is not only to create a beautiful illustration that looks great on a screen or on paper, as is the goal with most other forms of illustration, but to create something that looks utterly incredible when worn. Detail, composition, and color scheme are all carefully considered from the wearer’s point of view, and the result is a beautiful and highly detailed piece of wearable art that changes each time the scarf is tied.
Occasionally, Logan also collaborates with Guest Artists to create scarves. These projects vary from single-artist commissioned works, to conceptual collaborations where both creatives plan a piece that Logan illustrates, to much more involved collaborations where both artists work together to conceptualize the piece as a whole while illustrating different sections. To date, Logandria has worked with Lee Woolhiser, Cora Harrington, Danielle Roberts, Marlowe Lune, and Fyodor Pavlov, with more collaborations in the works.
Logan graduated Summa Cum Laude from Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Illustration in 2017 and has been happily designing for Logandria since its inception in 2019. She has been a dedicated artist her entire life, and she considers it a true honor to make art that people want to decorate themselves with.
